CATCH YOUR TAIL
Black And Decker Drill Set
For this drill you will only need a ribbon about 3-4 feet long. Pair off your students. One will be the head and one will be the tail. Tie the ribbon to the back of the belt of the "head" student while giving the "tail" to the second student. The goal is for the head to catch the tail. This encourages students to think creatively, use agility and promotes fun!
OBSTACLE COURSE DRILL
Races are ALWAYS popular with kids! Divide your class into 2 or more even groups. Set up an obstacle course consisting of different stations. My particular favorite circuit consists of: 15 jumping jacks, crawling through a tunnel made from a rolled up hard surface mat, walk the balance beam, perform 10 punches on the hanging bag and ending with 3 push ups. Use your imagination and create whatever you can think of and then time each student. Its a game that teaches speed & endurance!
DODGE BALL
Sometimes it is announced before the start of some classes that if they are attentive and do well in class "we may have time for a game of dodge ball". We have a large rubber bouncy ball and arrange teams. One team divided on each side of room.... other team in middle. As they are hit they sit out until last person is left. Also teaches speed and evasion skill. (We encourage forward rolls!)
